My art is a part of my yoga and meditation practice. This body of work focuses on repetition in a variety of media. In Sanskrit, abhysasa is the word for endeavor or repetition. This repetition is not for its own sake, but is rather the sustained endeavor to be in the meditative state. I’m interested in the moments of beauty, stillness, and union born of this repeated endeavor.
While I use a variety of different materials and processes in each project, my intent is the same: allowing meaning to accrue and deepen through the repeated action of these shapes, which develops over time. This process is meditative, and I humbly offer these pieces up to the viewer in the same light.
